Do we really know how magnets work?

You probably know that magnets don't stick to everything. They won't stick to plastic. They won't stick to wood as well. Magnets will stick to metal objects, like your refrigerator, but they won't stick to all kinds of metal. According to the classical theory, magnetic fields are clouds of energy around magnetic particles that pull in or push away other magnetic objects. But inthe quantum mechanics view, electrons emit undetectable, virtual particles that tellother objects to moveaway or come closer.

In addition, magnets are known as permanent magnets. The continual magnetism of permanent magnets is due to the presence of magnetic dipoles in magnetic domains. A dipole is positive charge and a negative charge that have the same size and are a certain distance from each other.

What’s more, Magnets work because of an invisible force. It is called magnetism, or the magnetic force. The magnetic force surrounds a magnet. The magnetic force is created by the movement of electric charges, You could kindly refer below the image.

Magnets are objects that produce magnetic fields and attract metals like iron, nickel and cobalt. The magnetic field's lines of force exit the magnet from its north pole and enter its south pole. Permanent or hard magnets create their own magnetic field all the time.

Why do magnets stick together? As we know, all magnets have two poles, which is north and south poles. Opposite poles are attracted to each other, while the same poles repel each other. The magnetic force can be felt all around the magnet. The closer you get to the magnet, the stronger the force will be.

Magnets have many uses. Of course, they are great for holding notes to your refrigerator, but they also can be use in different fields. Not only used in computers, electric motors and home appliance, but also used in medical devices. Except of these functions, we need to continue to find more.
